In Year 4 learning about length covers many aspects. An important element is recognising the need for a standard unit, the centimetre. Pupils estimate, experiment and measure with a variety of non-standard objects in order to highlight the role of measurement devices such as the 30cm ruler and the initial units of cm and metre in accurate calculation of length.

In our second instalment of Friday Book Club with Jenny McLachlan, we met author Jack Meggitt-Phillips. The theme was ‘Villians’ and both Jenny and Jack gave us tips on how to imagine and create our own villians which could be used as a book character. Jack Meggitt-Phillips is the author of The Beast and the Bethany Series.

The Eco Committee would wish, on behalf of Ballymoney Model IPS, to extend a huge thank you to Sustrans for donating bikes and scooters to our school.
