This week, 6FB welcomed a visitor from the NSPCC, along with their mascot buddy. The session focused on exploring worries, anxieties and how children can keep themselves safe. Pupils learnt the importance of identifying trusted adults they can talk to if they ever feel concerned or need support.

On Thursday our Year 6 classes visited Coleraine Grammar School to get a taste of life at secondary school. The Year 7 children enjoyed participating in Streetwise which was held in the Joey Dunlop centre. The children took part in a workshop taken by members of the NSPCC. The children learnt about the different types of abuse and what they should do in different situations to protect themselves and others. In addition they learnt about their rights and the rights of all children as well as the role of the NSPCC in protecting children.

Miss Downey’s class had a lovely visit from Elaine Adams who visited to teach the children how to create beautiful floral arrangements.  The pupils learned about a variety of flowers and discovered how oasis is used to keep arrangements secure.
