Y6 OBCH Outdoor Learning, Fun Friday
In Year 6 we have had the best week enjoying outdoor learning, and our Fun Friday to raise money for our school garden. Thank you to all of the pupils who wore green to school and for supporting the school in this way. To celebrate, the pupils enjoyed the afternoon in our beautiful school grounds learning and playing traditional games, as well as enjoying the resources we are so lucky to have here at school. We enjoyed skipping games (lots of pupils managed to get the hang of skipping, something some of them couldn’t do at the beginning of the day). We also had fun on the trim trail doing time trials, with one pupil completing it in 31 seconds! We enjoyed learning in our outdoor classroom too this week. We used natural materials to make Ancient Egyptian scarab beetles. We took our books outside and enjoyed some quiet time reading our favourite book. Finally, we played a huge game of ‘Forty-Forty’ (also known as Pom-Pom, knock down tin, or kick the can). The excitement as children hid behind trees, under bushes or behind planters to evade being seen - the best fun!
