Year four were delighted and very lucky to receive a special visitor this morning. One of our parents, Mrs McClelland offered to bring in her Chinese lion to add to our learning all about Chinese New Year. Our staff gathered some instruments, traditional background music and some inspirational video clips. Mrs McClelland told us all about her experiences of Chinese New Year customs and performed some wonderful traditional lion dance actions.
Pupils were offered the chance to try on the lion dance costume, to perform with some drums and percussion instruments and create their own dance parade inspired by the dragon dance train. Here is a little taster of the fun we had and we will share some clips of their expressive dance parades soon.
