Year 4 have had a busy term participating in a variety of active learning activities and events in their Thematic WAU Topic, “ Home Sweet Home.” The boys and girls in Mrs Murphy’s class have enjoyed learning about different traditions and cultures around the world, researching and building styles of Homes in other countries. Linking in with the Year 4 Novel “ The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark,” Using ICT, information about Barn Owls was researched, along with creating posters using the app Just2 easy and PIC Collage. In the winter sunshine there were lots of different styles of homes built outdoors during Activity- based learning. Christmas traditions have been celebrated through posting Santa Letters, making Christmas cards and decorations, creating and presenting digital animation of “ The Christmas Story,” and finally performing in the Year 4 Christmas Show, “Straw and Order.”
